Join the Friends of Mount Hope Cemetery historians in celebration of the Total Eclipse, as we travel through time and visit the final resting places of some of Rochester’s most prolific scientists and inventors, as well as other colorful characters. Learn about Rochester’s Observatory, the fourth largest in the U.S. at the time, and astronomical discoveries made here, as well as the origins of the Strasenburgh Planetarium. These tours are appropriate for all ages and are FREE! While at Mount Hope, stop by the gravesites of Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass, where historians will be stationed to tell their stories.
