Theme tours focus on a particular topic and are led by tour guides with special expertise in that topic. This year we have a wide variety of fascinating tours, all listed in our Guided Walking Tours brochure. Copies of the brochure are also available at the cemetery office and the gatehouse.
Tickets for all tours are available online or in person. Members can attend most tours free of charge, so this is a tremendous bargain.

Take one of our ensemble tours. Tour goers will find ensemble tours fascinating and fun. Instead of one tour guide, there will be ten or so! Some will be people whom you recognize from other tours, and some will be new faces - tour apprentices who are studying to become tour guides.
You will be part of a group and you will be escorted from one site to another, hearing stories at each stop. Some tour guides will show photos or visuals or artifacts to help you understand how the person buried at each gravesite contributed to early life in Rochester.
In addition to our public tour program, we have a variety of weekday tours to give all community members an opportunity to learn about Mount Hope Cemetery.
- School Tours - Guided walking tours led by FOMH tour guides are available for all students from grades 4-12 at no cost. This includes home-schooled children.
- Guided tours are available for organizations such as garden clubs, historical societies, and social groups.
- Van tours for seniors
- Private tours for family and friends
- Walking tours for out-of-town commercial bus tourists
