One of the loveliest, most well-tended gardens at Mount Hope Cemetery is next to the Old Chapel. For many years – long before Covid—this garden has been the personal project of Gary and Betty Prodrick. Not only do the Prodricks care for this garden, but Gary also cuts the grass and weed-whacks around the front of the Old Chapel and the Fountain.
Their dedication to Mount Hope has expanded their plantings to other areas as well:
- Section H, Enos Parson area, the Smiths and the Quakenbush graves
- Civil War graves on the hillside by the old Carriage Road in Section H.
- The graves of two great-grandparents on Wilson Blvd
- Currently, they are working on the triangle garden at the corner of Wilson Blvd and Firemen’s Avenue.
The FOMH is grateful to our volunteers like the Prodricks, who work so diligently year after year to beautify Mount Hope.
Thank you, Gary and Betty!
